For God's sake don't be the first one to scrape the non-stick frying pan. Unless you want your significant other to get slightly pissed off (and mention it) every single time she cooks you a meal you will NOT use a spoon/fork/anything metal anywhere near the revered teflon. Even vigorously tapping a wooden spoon off the edge is risky.
